Tsutsumi Shinichi gets married on 1 March

Tsutsumi Shinichi announced his marriage on 1 March through his official homepage where he revealed that he had filed his marriage application on the same day. Tsutsumi's wife is 32-year-old, which is 16 years younger than him, and the couple had dated for four years prior to getting married. According to the statement, Tsutsumi said that they had spent time over the years waiting for the ripe time to get married. As his wife is not a celebrity, he would not reveal her name nor her photo nor any details related to her and there are no plans for a press conference regarding his marriage.

Tsutsumi had given an indication in recent years that he wished to get married. For example, during an event for the movie "Uchuu Kyoudai", he expressed his intention to follow in co-star Oguri Shun's footsteps to get hitched since the latter had just married Yamada Yu at that time. In November last year when he appeared on FujiTV variety programme "Waratte Iitomo", Tsutsumi also mentioned that he was already 48 years old and wanted to get married.

At the end of his statement, Tsutsumi mentioned that he's currently preparing for his stage play "Ima Hitotabi no Shuura" which will be performed from April and promised to work even harder now that he finally has formed a new family with his wife.
