Nakatani Miki attended the greeting event for her new movie "Rikyu ni tazune yo" at the 37th Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal, Canada, on 1 September where she appeared in a kimono and greeted the 1,000-strong audience in French. The movie is one of the entries in the World Competition category of the film festival. Nakatani mentioned during her speech that this movie is about a tea master who lived more than 400 years ago. After the screening, the audience rose and gave a standing ovation to which Nakatani expressed her gratitude at the support. Before the screening and greeting event, Nakatani also held a tea ceremony at the oldest church in Montreal i.e. Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bonsecours as part of the promotional efforts.
The movie which features Ichikawa Ebizo, Nakatani, Iseya Yusuke and Omori Nao in its cast, will be shown in Japan from 7 December.
