FujiTV will be introducing a new Fridays 8pm drama timeslot from October 2013 which increases the number of drama offerings to 7 per season. As such, the TV station will be screening dramas on every day of the week except Sundays. Currently, the variety programme showing in the Fridays 8pm timeslot will end in September to make way for dramas. This is the first time since 1996 that a drama is shown in this timeslot (the last drama was "Shota no Sushi" which aired from April to September).
According to the TV station, their target audience for this timeslot is women in their 30s and 40s so there will be family, mystery, workplace and humanity dramas shown in this slot. Details of the new drama will be made known at a later date.
