Matsuda Shota and Takei Emi will be working together in the FujiTV autumn 2013 drama "Umi no ue no Shinryojo" (The clinic on the sea) which will begin its run from October in the Mondays 9pm timeslot. The story is modeled after the medical patrol ship Saiseimaru which operates in the Seto Inner Sea and provides medical care to residents on various islands. In the drama, the ship where Matsuda and Takei work on is named Kaishinmaru. Matsuda who is acting in his first leading role in a Gekku drama, will play the role of Sezaki Kota, a skillful doctor who falls in love with women very easily but always ends up being dumped by them. As such, there will be a different female guest each episode who plays his love interest. On the other hand, Takei who is also making her debut as a Gekku heroine, will be a nurse who mistakes Sezaki for being an intruder on the Kaishinmaru and even gives him a flying kick. Takei[s character will be one who hates illogical things and has a headstrong character.
Filming will be done on various islands in Kagawa, Okayama and Hiroshima Prefectures.
