Matsuyama Kenichi to star in movie "Ieji" set in Fukushima after March 11 crisis

Matsuyama Kenichi will take on the lead role in the movie "Ieji" (The Road Home) which will be shown next spring. The movie which is set in Fukushima after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami crisis, features Matsuyama as Sawada Jiro, the second son of an influential family in Fukushima who left his hometown when he was in the second year of senior year after being framed for a crime he didn't commit. Although his hometown was designated as an out-of-bounds area due to the radiation, Jiro still decides to return home to reunite with his elder brother Soichi (Uchino Masaaki), his sister-in-law (Ando Sakura) and his mother (Tanaka Yuko). Other co-stars include Yamanaka Takashi, Mitsuishi Ken, Tanaka Yoji and Ishibashi Renji. The filming is done entirely in Fukushima and will wrap up on 22 June.
