Osawa Takao starring in NHK period drama "Kaen - Kita no Eiyuu Ateruiden"

Osawa Takao will be starring in the NHK period drama "Kaen - Kita no Eiyuu Ateruiden" as anounced during a production press conference on 2 September. The story is based on a novel by Takahashi Katsuhiko who lives in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, and is based on an aboriginal hero Aterui who fought against the Yamato Court to protect the Isawa area between the 8th and 9th centuries. The drama which is also meant as an encouragement to Iwate which was hit by the tsunami crisis, will be shot in Iwate from late September and is due to be shown via BS Premium in January 2013 and the NHK general channel in March 2013.

I just watched the NHK show called Inside and Out and it was so interesting because they showed the location for some of the scenes for this latest historical film with Osawa Takao. I now found this site after a search and I am delighted to comment here. I will keep this site on record. thank you for this.

A further note about this drama. It has been filmed in the Iwate area which was badly hit during the earthquake and tsunami. It will give some impetus to help the area now.
Also another favourite actor is in the cast...Kitamura Kazuki. He is so charming and a good actor. Looking forward to seeing this when it shows.
