Cast announcements for new Kindaichi drama SP

The latest drama SP of the Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo series which features Yamada Ryosuke as the fourth generation Kindaichi Hajime, will also boast of a number of Asian stars in its line-up. The drama SP is due to be shown this winter and is based on a case set during a fashion show which takes place in Kowloon, Hong Kong. BIG BANG's Seungri, Taiwan's Vivian Hsu and former Fahrenheit member Wu Zun and Hong Kong veteran actor Eric Tsang will be taking on roles in the SP. As the manga series is also celebrating its 20th anniversary, the script will be written personally by its author Amaki Seimaru and filming will be done primarily in Hong Kong.

Seungri will be acting as a Korean student who works part-time at a Hong Kong hotel and is one of the initial suspects for the murder case. Vivian Hsu last appeared in a Japanese drama 11 years ago when she acted in 2001's "Honke no Yome". and will be a fashion designer in this SP. Meanwhile, Wu Zun will play the role of a police detective who was responsible for safety during the fashion show when the murder took place and is set to clash head-on with Kindaichi. Last but not least, Eric Tsang's role will be that of a mysterious man nicknamed Kowloon Emperor who used to rule the Kowloon area.

Besides these overseas stars, other Japanese actors in the line-up include Kiritani Kenta and Hey! Say! Jump!'s Arioka Daiki who play a promoter of the fashion show and Kindaichi's junior at school respectively.
