How does Kaisha even figure in any of the awards? Such a logic-fail drama. Okay, maybe Ayase aside. I mean, Fukushi shouldn't even be anywhere near an award.

The problem about The Television's Awards is that there are three sets of results i.e. one decided by voters, one decided by a panel of judges and one decided by a group of TV drama reporters. Often, the choices decided by these three groups tend to differ quite a bit but the issue is, the judges' choice have a higher weightage over the other groups so the overall ranking will be affected by this comparatively smaller group of people as compared to the popular vote. On the other hand, sometimes you get a result where the judges and reporters' choice is indeed someone who did well but the popular vote may swing it to someone else who may not be deemed to have performed as well and yet is popular with the viewers.

Talking about Fukushi Sota, contrary to what many may believe about his popularity, he was placed only No.5 in the viewers' choice and yet was No.3 in the eyes of the judges and No.2 to the reporters. I believe that's why he got No.2 overall. Interestingly, Kubota Masataka got No.1 in the viewers' and reporters' choice but was joint No.5 to the judges. The magazine commented that Kubota won hands down in the viewers' choice which meant that he must have won by such a huge margin to overcome the advantage Fukushi had over him in the judges' category.

I agree with Junny that Kaisha was just plain bad. So much so that I couldn't make it past 4 episodes. The guy that played Ayase's young beau (Sota?) was a horrible actor, I thought.
