Sato Takeru will be the lead again in the movie sequel of "Rurouni Kenshin" which will be shown in 2 installments next summer. The first movie which was shown last August, made more than JPY 3 billion when it was screened in cinemas. Besides the original cast of Sato, Takei Emi, Aoi Yu and Eguchi Yosuke, Fujiwara Tatsuya will take on the role of Shishio who is the biggest rival of Kenshin. The sequel is based on the highly popular "Kyoto-hen" and will be split into "Kyoto Taikahen" (The Kyoto Big Fire) and "Densetsu no Saigohen" (The Legendary Death). Filming began on 1 July and will last till mid December. In preparation for the role, Sato began training for his acting scenes in April but he commented that he was still far from what he hopes to achieve. On the other hand, Fujiwara will be wrapped up in bandages all over his body except for his eyes to which he commented that he would try his best to play the role of Shishio so as not to disappoint those who love this baddie.
