The international premiere of movie "Nazotoki wa dinner no ato de" was held at Marina Bay Sands' The Sands Theatre on 27 July which was attended by the cast Sakurai Sho, Kitagawa Keiko, Shiina Kippei and the director Tsujikata Masato. The movie is due to be shown in Japan from 3 August. Prior to the screening, about 2,000 fans had gathered for the red carpet event where Sakurai sung "Meikyuu Love Song", the theme song by Arashi with them. During the event, Sakurai greeted the audience in English, Japanese and Malay where he expressed his thanks for the help given when the crew was in Singapore last year for the filming by saying "terima kasih" in Malay. He also promised to visit the country again in future. On the other hand, Kitagawa mentioned that the date of the movie's release in Singapore coincides with her birthday i.e. 22 August and thanked the audience in English when they congratulated her. As for Shiina, he said that he was very surprised at seeing the big Merlion statue on Sentosa.
On the other hand, Sakurai who had stayed in Raffles Hotel this time for two nights and one night last year during the filming, will be appearing in the hotel's Hall of Fame which shows the photographs of the famous who had stayed in the hotel throughout its 127 years history. Sakurai will be the 128th celebrity to put his photo there (the 6th Japanese celebrity and the first Japanese actor to do so) and it will be placed on permanent display opposite the photo of Prince William and his wife Catherine.
