Ooizumi Yo, Honjo Manami & Okada Masaki to star in new movie "Sora no Restaurant"

Ooizumi Yo will be starring in the new movie "Sora no Restaurant" (The restaurant of the sky) which will be directed by Fukagawa Yoshihiro. The story which comprises of the autumn and winter arcs, was filmed from 21 September 2017 and wrapped up on 17 January 2018. Co-stars include Honjo Manami and Okada Masaki. The movie will be released in cinemas from early spring 2019.

The movie is the third installment in the Hokkaido lifestyle series which depicts how people live in the vast land providing an abundance of food. The first movie "Shiawase no Pan" was set at Toyako while the second movie "Budou no Namida" was set at Sorachi. This time, the story takes place at the town of Setana where there is a ranch facing the sea which produces cheese. The owner Wataru (Ooizumi) and his wife Kotoe (Honjo) work together with their friends to open a restaurant for just one day using the local produce. Okada plays Kanbe, a young man who is a sheep farmer helping with this project.

This project was conceptualised 4 years ago just when the 2nd movie was released. From bread to wine and now cheese, the food featured in the movies match one another and go through a similar process of maturing or fermentation in order to develop deep flavours. As such, this reflects how life is as people mature and develop through meeting other people and over time.
