Kis-My-Ft2's Kitayama Hiromitsu & Tabe Mikako to play a married couple in real-life adaptation movie "Tora-san"

Kis-My-Ft2's Kitayama Hiromitsu and Tabe Mikako will be playing a married couple in the real-life adaptation movie "Tora-san" based on the same-titled manga by Itaba Mina which was serialised in "Gekkan YOU" between 2014 and 2015 and will be directed by Kakehi Masaya. The manga will resume its run from the April issue of the magazine in conjunction with the movie's release in 2019.

Kitayama plays a struggling manga artist Takahata Suzuo who dabbles in gambling and drinks heavily. Due to a traffic accident, Suzuo leaves behind his wife Natsuko and daughter Miyu (Hirasawa Kokoro). At the gantry where his next life is about to be decided, Suzuo regains consciousness and is given the chance to re-examine his relationship with his family and find out about their true thoughts by returning to them as a cat for just one month.

For Kitayama, this marks his first appearance in a movie, his first leading role in a movie, his first role as a father and a cat. Although Suzuo is a really lousy character, he gradually goes through a change in heart. He hoped that the audience would be touched by this movie and appreciate its charm and that he would be able to bring about this with his acting. As for Tabe, she said that she had appeared in variety shows with Kitayama before and looked forward to the filming as he is always the one to liven things up.
