Oricon conducts this survey every year where 20,000 music fans from teens to those in their 40s are asked to choose their favourites. Here is the top 50 ranking for this year where numbers in the brackets represent their rankings in 2017 while those with a dash means that they were not in the top 50 last year.

Looking at the top 10 rankings for each age group, Nogizaka46 was the top choice for teenagers while eventual winner Arashi was chosen by those in their 20s and 40s. Amuro Namie emerged as No.1 for those in their 30s:
