  1. In which world does Sakurai Sho beat out Yakusho Koji in the acting department? Oh, in the fangirls' world. Jeez.

    Glad common sense won out.

  2. ^It's always been like that.
The only thing that made Rikuoh worth watching is Yakusho Koji's great acting imo. The story itself feels dragged.

  3. Hi junny, the thing I find about Sakurai is that whether his acting is good or not tends to be largely dependent on the script. If he has a strong script to work on, he tends to do much better. As much as I like him, I cannot bring myself to say that he is consistently good although he had some great performances in the past such as "Kazoku Game". As for this drama which I haven't finished watching, I thought that he was good in terms of making this unlikely principal appear rather convincing and realistic and not like the usual preaching and passionate-type of teachers in most school dramas. Of course, I think the script did help to a certain extent although I can't ignore the possibility that the votes for him could most likely come from the fans rather than those who truly appreciated him for his acting.

As for Rikuou, I have to say that the story is somewhat cringe-inducing at certain points because it seems to be too idealistic when depicting this battle where the weak overcomes the strong. Frankly speaking, I thought that Yakusho was so fantastic with his acting that I kept watching the drama for him and some of the other cast members rather than the story itself.
