Tachi Hiroshi, Furukawa Yuuki and Hoshino Mari will be starring in the new WOWOW drama "60 Gohan Taisakushitsu" (60 The Wrong Judgment Countermeasure Office) which will consist of 5 episodes and be shown from May. The drama is based on the same-titled original mystery novel by Ishikawa Tomotake which will be published on 15 March and will be directed by Kumakiri Kazuyoshi. Tachi plays Arima Eiji, a police detective nearing retirement, who belongs to the Gohan Taisakushitsu and had the experience of arresting the wrong person for a crime he did not commit. As such, when he is tasked to investigate the likelihood of wrong judgments given out to criminals on death row along with young lawyer Sera Shoichi (Furukawa) and prosecutor Haruna Misuzu (Hoshino), Arima takes this on with the intention of repenting for his past mistake. On the other hand, although Sera is suspicious of Arima's actions, he is pushed along by the latter's passion to assist in the re-investigations while Haruna just wants to get back to the prosecutors' office as soon as possible so she has no choice but to obey the orders of her superior to cooperate with Arima and Sera.
Tachi described his character Arima as someone who had devoted himself to investigations and is a stubborn old man so he hoped to be able to show the latter's way of living through his acting. When he first got the synopsis and read it together with the novel, he was intrigued by the interesting setting and developments. Although some parts of the story had been changed, these original bits help to enhance the story in their own ways. Tachi revealed that the director had specifically asked for him to play Arima so in order to bring out that jaded feel, he deliberately grew his beard so as to show Arima's lack of attention to his appearance as he was too caught up with his work.
As for Furukawa who plays a lawyer for the first time, he said that the legal jargon was quite a challenge but he was glad to take this on as his first role after turning 30. In addition, he was glad to be able to play an adult role this time as he had hoped for it for a while. Furukawa also commented that he was honoured to be able to work with his seniors Tachi and Hoshino and hoped that the viewers would look forward to this time limit suspense story.
Last but not least, Hoshino expressed her joy about being able to act in a WOWOW drama and work with Kumakiri and her co-stars. She revealed that she was very intrigued by the novel and script but wondered how to play Haruna who is difficult to approach and connect with. However, while saying her lines, she had gradually discovered how to portray the character and hoped that the viewers would enjoy discovering the truth with them in this drama.
