Supporting cast line-up of new movie "Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori" announced

The supporting cast line-up of new movie "Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori" starring Yamazaki Kento was announced. The movie which will be shown in cinemas from June 2018, is based on the same-titled novel by Miyashita Natsu which won the 2016 Honya Taisho, 2016 Kino Best! No.1 and 2015 Brunch Book Award. Yamazaki plays the lead character Tomura Naoki, a 20-year-old guy who lives in Hokkaido and just graduated from a piano tuning school. When he was a high school student, he met a piano tuner Itadori Souichiro (Miura Tomokazu). Intrigued by the sound of the piano after it was tuned by Itadori and having the feeling that the sound has the smell of the forest, Tomura starts working at Itadori's musical instruments shop. Through the piano, he comes into contact with various people such as the pianist sisters Kazune and Yuni (Kamishiraishi Mone and Kamishiraishi Moka) and grapples with his own worries, doubts and setbacks in life.

Suzuki Ryohei will be playing Tomura's senior Yanagi Shinji who is planning a marriage proposal to his girlfriend while Horiuchi Keiko will be playing Kitagawa Mizuki, an admin staff at Etou Gakki. Mitsuishi Ken will be playing Akino Tadashi who has a scathing tongue but is an excellent piano tuner. Naka Riisa will play Yanagi's girlfriend Hamano Eri and Shirota Yuu will play Kamijou Masato who is a professional pianist playing at a jazz bar. Morinaga Yuki will play Minami Takashi, a young man who is no longer able to play the piano while Yoshiyuki Kazuko will play Tomura's grandmother Kiyo. Last but not least, Sano Hayato will play Tomura's younger brother Masaki.

Filming was done in February and June last year at Asahikawa, Hokkaido.
