Maki Youko has left her agency Flying Box as per the announcement by the latter on its official website on 30 January. In the statement, the agency addressed recent media reports alleging a controversy between Maki and them over remuneration issues and said that they were deeply troubled by the untrue reports. The reason why they parted ways after the end of her contract was that Maki and the agency had differing ideas on how to manage her career going forward and was totally unrelated to money issues. The agency also stressed that it will continue to manage the existing CM deals and movie work that Maki had taken on before her departure until they are completed. As for her activities after leaving the agency, it stated that they haven't heard about her concrete plans at the moment. Last but not least, the agency thanked everyone for their support to date and apologised for causing concern and worry due to not being able to announce the news earlier.
