Ito Atsushi, Endo Kenichi & Terao Akira star in new TV Asahi drama SP "Hakujitsu no Karasu"

Ito Atsushi, Endo Kenichi and Terao Akira will be starring in the new TV Asahi drama SP "Hakujitsu no Karasu" (The crow of broad daylight) which will be shown at 8pm on 11 January. The drama is based on the 2015 novel by Fukuzawa Tetsuzou whose past works such as "Tokyo Nanmin" was made into an anime in 2014 and "Otokomeshi" was made into a drama series in 2016.

The story set in Japan which is known for having a 99.9% conviction rate for anyone charged for an offence, describes how an ordinary salaryman (Endo) is framed for a molest case which he did not commit and how a newbie police officer and an old lawyer come together to fight the overwhelming odds and overturn the case with their secret investigation.

Endo commented that this was the first time he played a character embroiled in a false charge case and he could go all out in his acting thanks to the presence of Ito and Terao. Meanwhile, Terao joked that he would always look at who is the lead when deciding to act in a drama and would reject something if he didn't want to be a part of it. Although this was his first collaboration with Ito, he thought that it would be interesting to work with the latter. Besides, the script described the relationship between the three men in a very intriguing way so he decided to trust his instinct that this would be a good drama and join the cast. Last but not least, Ito said that it was a very nice working atmosphere on the set. Although he was initially nervous in front of Terao, they gradually became closer through chatting about various things such as acting and their mutual hobby of golf. As for Endo, Ito didn't get to spend much time with him but those few days they spent together were very intense and fulfilling.
