Narita Ryo to play Aoi Wakana & Matsuzaka Toori's only son Shunya in NHK morning drama "Warotenka"

Narita Ryo will be playing Shunya, the only son of Ten (Aoi Wakana) and Kitamura Tokichi (Matsuzaka Toori) in the ongoing NHK morning drama "Warotenka". Shunya goes to America for further studies in revue and musicals by relying on his grandmother Tsueko (Suzuki Kyoka) who lives in California. Upon his return to Japan, he plans to get involved in the management of Kitamura Shoten but clashes with his parents and Fuuta (Hamada Gaku) over old and new management styles before he gradually grows to become a credible heir to the business.

Being his first appearance in a NHK morning drama, Narita expressed his joy to be able to take part in "Warotenka" which he is a fan of. As he will only appear in the second part of the story, he is worried whether viewers will warm up to him but will try his best to become a character who will be well-loved and bring smiles to everyone's morning.

Besides Narita, new additions to the cast include Matsuo Satoru who will play Kawakami Shiro, the comedy partner of Ririko (Hirose Arisu) and Minakami Kyoka who will play Shunya's girlfriend Kanou Tsubaki.
