Kitaoji Kinya, Izumiya Shigeru & Shiga Kotaro to return in New Year SP of "Sanbiki no Ossan"

Kitaoji Kinya, Izumiya Shigeru and Shiga Kotaro will be back in the New Year SP of TV Tokyo drama "Sanbiki no Ossan" (3 middle-aged men) which will be shown at 9pm on 2 January. For this time, the cast and crew headed to their first filming outside Tokyo at famous tourist spot Nikko. The drama series had three seasons to date i.e Winter 2014, Spring 2015 and Winter 2017 and features the trio as former delinquents who come together to form a private security team and protect their town from evil.

Kitaoji revealed that he received a "love letter" from a primary school girl in the past year who wrote that she watched this drama and encouraged them to keep working hard since they looked so cool. The little girl also asked when they will be continuing the series. Kitaoji said that he replied to the girl to thank her for her support and pledged to work hard. With such support even from children as young as her, he felt that it was worthwhile to continue doing a drama like this. Izumiya also expressed his wish for the drama to continue forever and joked that they would try to continue with it even if it cost him his life while Shiga requested everyone to support this drama so that they could do this for a long time.
