Hirano Sho & Taira Yuna to star in new real-life adaptation movie "honey"

Kansai Johnny's Jr and Mr.KING member Hirano Sho will be taking on his first leading role in a film by starring in the new real-life adaptation movie "honey" based on the same-titled manga by Meguro Amu which was serialised in "Bessatsu Magaret" between September 2012 and December 2015. Hirano will be playing a juvenile delinquent and will dye his hair red for this character. The heroine will be played by Taira Yuna who dyed her hair brown for the first time in her life and cut her long hair by 20cm. The movie will be directed by Shintoku Koji whose most recent work was "Peach Girl" and be released in cinemas next spring.

The story features Hirano as the lead character Onise Taiga who behaves like an delinquent but has a pure personality. One day, he is approached by Kogure Nao (Taira) who is afraid of Onise's reputation but asks to date him with marriage in mind. Onise is unable to reject her and has no choice but to accept her "proposal" which marks the beginning of a sweet and unlikely love story between them.

Hirano who is acting in a love story for the first time, expressed joy when he got the offer and try his best to work hard with his co-stars. As for having to dye his hair red for the role, he is still unaccustomed to how he looks but the people around him have been praising his new look and how it's near to how Onise looks in the manga. As such, he hopes that those who watch this movie will have the feeling that they want to have a romance like what is depicted in the story.

On the other hand, Taira described her character as a frank, pure and cute girl and she feels that it is a refreshing change for her to cut and dye her hair for this movie. As for her impression of Hirano, she feels that he resembles Onise a lot.
