Ishida Yuriko to appear in Kansai TV / FujiTV Spring 2017 drama "CRISIS Kouan Kido Sousatai Tokusouhan"

Ishida Yuriko will be appearing in the upcoming Kansai TV / FujiTV Spring 2017 drama "CRISIS Kouan Kido Sousatai Tokusouhan" starring Oguri Shun which will begin its run from 11 April in the Tuesdays 9pm timeslot. The drama written by Kaneshiro Kazuki features Oguri in the leading role of Inami Akira who belongs to the secret team within the police force named Kouan Kido Sousatai Tokusouhan (special investigation unit of the public security department's riot squad). The team is tasked to handle the "dirty jobs" of the country and government and consists of police officers who have unspeakable pasts and secrets which they have to struggle with while handling the critical issues facing the country on a daily basis such as terrorism, new religious groups, military spies and drug peddling organisations. Nishijima Hidetoshi plays his colleague Tamaru Saburo who also belongs to the same team. Inami is always resorting to unthinkable measures to overcome the criminals while Tamaru is the exact opposite and the epitome of calmness.

Ishida plays the role of Hayashi Chigusa, the wife of Hayashi Satoshi (Mashima Hidekazu) who was planted by Tamaru into a new religious group as a spy. However, Satoshi has gone missing for the past two years so Tamaru tries to support Chigusa who is awaiting her husband's return. Gradually, feelings develop between Tamaru and Chigusa but they have to try to restrain themselves from going over the forbidden line.

Ishida commented that this time, she has to show the emotions of her character with very few actions which is rather difficult. However, when she faces Nishijima who plays Tamaru, the sad emotions will well up naturally so she's very thankful for her co-star's presence. She also praised Nishijima for having a smiling face like a puppy which will be sure to send hearts fluttering especially. As such, the scenes of Chigusa and Tamaru should be a welcome distraction from the intense scenes in the drama.
