The production press conference of FujiTV Winter 2017 drama "Totsuzen desuga, Ashita kekkon shimasu" was held on 8 January which was attended by cast members Nishiuchi Mariya, Yamamura Ryuta, Sawamura Ikki, Nakamura An and Yamazaki Ikusaburo. The drama which begins its run from 23 January in the Mondays 9pm timeslot, is based on the same-titled manga by Miyazono Izumi and features Nishiuchi as a woman who aims to get married in order to be a housewife but meets a man played by Yamamura who does not want to get married.
Nishiuchi who is starring in her first leading role in a Getsuku drama, revealed that she had planned to go to the US for dancing and acting classes from January to March 2017 so she already took time off to clear her schedule for this period. However, when she got the offer for the drama, she decided that this is a golden opportunity so she postponed her plan and wanted to concentrate on the drama for the next three months. When asked about her views about marriage, Nishiuchi commented that even though she wants to get married and build a happy family one day, she doesn't have the intention to be a housewife yet.
As for Yamamura who is making his debut as an actor, he commented that everything feels new to him and there are various challenges which are unlike what he has encountered as a musician but he will try his best. Coincidentally, the first scene involving Nishiuchi and Yamamura filmed on 4 January was a kissing scene so he tried to keep his breath fresh by not eating anything containing garlic but Nishiuchi happened to do the opposite by going for yakiniku on the night before the shoot. As such, Nishiuchi apologised to him for what she did.
