Watabe Gota announced through his agency on 1 June that he has married his girlfriend who is four years older than him. In the statement, it was revealed that the marriage application was filed in the morning of the same day at a ward office in Tokyo. The couple were introduced to each other three years ago by a mutual friend and started dating soon after. His wife is not pregnant at the moment and there are no plans at the moment for a wedding.
Watabe commented in his statement that he hopes to build a happy family with his wife and improve as an actor at the same time. He called for the support of everyone around them as they strive toward this goal.
Watabe is due to appear in the upcoming stage play "Hi no Moto Ichi no Daiakutou" between 9 June and 19 June directed by Koizumi Kyoko.
