Ieiri Leo to sing the theme song for NTV Spring 2016 drama "Omukae desu"

Ieiri Leo will be singing the theme song for new NTV Spring 2016 drama "Omukae desu" starring Fukushi Sota and Tsuchiya Tao which will begin its run from 16 April in the Saturdays 9pm timeslot. The song titled "Bokutachi no Mirai" (Our future) will be released as her 12th single on 11 May and is her 6th drama theme song to date. Coincidentally, this is the third drama featuring Fukushi which she is singing the theme song for after FujiTV's "Umi no Ue no Shinryojo" and "Koinaka".

"Omukae desu" is based on the same-titled manga serialised since 1999 in the magazine "LaLa" by Tanaka Meka which features Fukushi as Tsutsumi Madoka, an university student who is poor at expressing his emotions and Tsuchiya as Aguma Sachi who is a sporty girl unafraid to show her feelings. The two of them are unable to get along due to their differing personalities but gradually come to understand each other better through their part-time job of helping spirits enter the realm of reincarnation.

As the drama talks about death, Ieiri wanted to convey a positive theme about the importance of the bonds between people and how people experience happiness, sadness, setbacks and hope in their lives. She commented that she tended to write more songs of loneliness and self-reflection to date so this is a new challenge for her by writing a song with lots of positive words.
