Tsuchiya Tao to star in the real-life movie adaptation of "Aozora Yell"

Tsuchiya Tao will be starring in the real-life movie adaptation of "Aozora Yell" which is due to be screened nationwide in August. The movie which is based on the same-titled manga serialised in "Bessatsu Margaret" between 2008 and October 2015, sold more than 3 million copies to date. Tsuchiya will be playing the lead character Ono Tsubasa, a student at a senior high school famous for its band. Despite having no experience in playing musical instruments, Tsubasa starts to learn how to play the trumpet and aims to be able to perform on the stands of the Koshien so as to support their school's baseball team. During the process, she meets Yamada Daisuke, a classmate cum member of the baseball team where they support each other towards achieving their goals. This will be the first time that Tsuchiya is playing a trumpet in a movie.

As for the role of Daisuke, he will be played by Takeuchi Ryoma who was seen in last September's TV Asahi drama "Kamen Rider Drive". This will be the second time that he is working with Tsuchiya since last autumn's TBS drama "Shitamachi Rocket". Although Takeuchi earned a special referral to enter university with his soccer skills, this will be his first attempt at baseball and he will cut his hair short for the filming. In addition, Tsubasa's buddy in the band Mizushima Aki will be played by Hayama Shono who played Tsuchiya's younger brother in the NHK morning drama "Mare".

Filming for the movie begins in April and the director will be Miki Takahiro.
