"Fushigi na Misaki no Monogatari" & "Soko nominite Hikari Kagayaku" win awards at The 38th Montreal World Film Festival

Japanese films "Fushigi na Misaki no Monogatari" and "Soko nominite Hikari Kagayaku" won awards at the 38th Montreal World Film Festival on 1 September (local time). "Fushigi na Misaki no Monogatari" which is due to be shown in cinemas from 11 October and is conceptualised by and starring Yoshinaga Sayuri, won the Judges Special Award Grand Prix and the Ecumenical Award given by the Christian groups for the film's contribution towards the film-making art while Oh Mipo, the director of "Soko nominite Hikari Kagayaku" starring Ayano Go, won the director's award.

Yoshinaga and Abe Hiroshi went on stage to give their speeches in French when the award was presented. As for Oh, she expressed thanks for the late Sato Yasushi, the author of the novel which the movie is based on.
