The production press conference of TBS Spring 2014 drama "Arisu no Toge" was held on 4 April. The drama which will be shown from 11 April at 10pm on Fridays, features Ueno Juri as a newbie doctor who believes that her father died to a medical mistake by the university hospital and tries to seek revenge on those involved in the deed. This is Ueno's first leading role in a drama since her last appearance in the 2011 NHK Taiga "Gou ~ Himetachi no Sengoku~". When asked to comment about her character, Ueno said that this is the first time she is playing a dark heroine and hopes to show the gentleness and toughness of a woman as she tries to push her enemies to the edge.
After the press conference, a special screening of the first episode was held for 80 people.
