SOPHIA announces its suspension of music activities from August

Rock band SOPHIA announced through their official website on 9 April that it will be suspending its music activities from August this year. The band which is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary since formation, commented that the members wish to pursue their personal interests in music thus decided to take time off their group career and will perform their last concert on 12 August at Nippon Budoukan which is part of their nationwide tour. SOPHIA which made their debut in 1995, had suspended their music activities once in April 2010 where their keyboardist Miyako Keiichi suffered from follicle-related malignant lymphoma. When asked about the reason for this time's suspension, SOPHIA's agency said that this had nothing to do with Miyako's illness and was something which the members decided in their best interests.
