Remioromen suspends its band activities; embarks on solo careers

Rock band Remioromen announced on 1 Feb through its official website that it will be suspending its group activities. The band which celebrated its 10th anniversary just 2 years ago stressed that they are not disbanding but rather suspending the group activities so that they can have more time to work on their music interests. Vocalist Fujimaki Ryota will be making his solo on 29 Feb with his debut single "Hikari wo Atsumete" while bassist Maeda Keisuke will continue with being a bassist, composer and producer. Drummer Jinguji Osamu is planning to act in dramas.

Remioromen was formed in December 2000 and made their debut in August 2003. Their bestselling single was "Konayuki", the insert song of "Ichi Litre no Namida" in 2005, which sold 859,000 copies. They also made their debut on Kouhaku in 2009 with this song.
