FujiTV Spring 2010 drama - Tsuki no Koibito ~ Moon Lovers ~

Shinohara Ryoko will be making her return in the FujiTV Spring 2010 drama "Tsuki no Koibito ~ Moon Lovers" which stars Kimura Takuya. This is Shinohara's first appearance in a drama since she went on a maternity break in 2008. Besides her, Kimura will also be romantically involved with Taiwanese model-actress Lin Chi-ling and Kitagawa Keiko in the drama.

Kimura plays the president of a company in the interior design industry who gets involved in a web of relationships with the three actresses and Matsuda Shota. Shinohara plays an interior designer who has been holding a torch for Kimura's role since they were in university. Matsuda will play Kimura's subordinate who can speak Mandarin with a secret ambition. Kitagawa will play a rich girl who works as a model and gets close to Kimura's character with a motive. Meanwhile, Lin will play a confidante of Kimura.

This will be Kimura and Shinohara's first collaboration in 13 years since they last worked on the 1997 drama Gift.

  2. Hi James, the drama hasn't even been shown on TV yet so you can only start looking out for the DVD after the drama ends its run. It looks likely that this drama may be delayed and not start in April like the rest.

When is Moon Lovers slotted to be shown? On Monday night at 9pm??

  4. Hi Sal, the O.A. date hasn't been announced yet so I'm guessing that it will not start in April like the rest. Mid May seems like a possibility especially considering that the recent KimuTaku dramas tend to start at a later date. Maybe they took too long to decide on the lineup.

  5. So you have no idea which day of the week we can expect it to be shown? If it is Fuji TV, they have 月9時 / 火9時、10時 / 木10時 for regular dramas...have these time slots already been filled by something else, do you know??

  7. Hey Chiaki,
They announced this drama will start May 10th. Did you see that ad for it?

On another note, what do you think about the Twilight Saga? Have you read the books and seen the DVDs??

  8. Hi Sal, I just saw the announcement on today's newspapers.

I've not read or seen anything about Twilight though. Are you a fan of it?

  9. I saw both Twilight and New Moon on DVD and loved the story (it continues on for two more stories). So I ordered the books from Amazon.com recently and want to read the novels to get more details behind the characters. You should check out the DVDs, Chiaki. It's a crazy phenomenon in the states--Twilight fans are everywhere! (The stories are translated into Japanese, but they've divided them into more books, I guess. The original series has four books in the states, but the Japanese series has over ten, I think!)
