Here are the results of the bestselling singles for the year 2008. Sales figures are indicated in brackets.
ARASHI has done very well this year with 3 singles in the top 10 and bagging the top 2 positions.
Among the top 25, only Jero is from the enka genre.
And Johnny's Jimusho groups snagged a total of 12 out of 25 positions but they are part of the newer generation. KinKi Kids who used to do very well is missing from the Top 25. SMAP is also nowhere to be seen.
Hamasaki Ayumi and Kouda Kumi are also missing from the Top 25 which seems to suggest that Avex cannot depend on them solely to make money.
