Top 10 CM Airtime Exposure Ranking (First Half of 2008)

The following ranking lists the Top 10 artistes who have appeared most in TV CMs during the first 6 months of 2008:

1) Tamaki Hiroshi

2) Ueto Aya

3) Aoi Yu

4) Yonekura Ryoko

5) Nakama Yukie

6) Kusanagi Tsuyoshi

7) Tsuchii Takeo

8) Toyohara Kousuke

9) Ota Maki

10) Kimura Takuya

  1. im surprised by this list..i was expecting Aragaki, Horikita, Nagasawa, Miyazaki and Aibu Saki..

  2. If you are talking about the number of endorsements, people like Ueto Aya and Aibu Saki are likely to come out tops. They are called CM queens because of the number of CM deals they hold.

    However, this ranking is about airtime. Even if the artiste loses out in terms of quantity of CMs, as long as the CM is repeated frequently enough, you win the game.

    The point boils down to the fact as to how much money the advertiser is willing to shell out. If they buy a lot of CM slots, it boosts the exposure of the artiste directly.

    Come to think of it, I only remember seeing Tamaki Hiroshi's mobile phone CM but I just cannot remember the brand. Well, if the consumer can't remember the brand, can the CM be considered successful in this sense? ^__^

    Exposure is not everything. Whether the consumer remembers the CM and product is more important, at least in my opinion.
