Screening event and talk show of TBS Spring 2017 drama "Reverse"

The 1st episode screening event and talk show of TBS Spring 2017 drama "Reverse" was held on 5 April which was attended by cast members Fujiwara Tatsuya and Toda Erika as well as the original novel's author Minato Kanae. The drama which begins its run from 14 April in the Fridays 10pm, will consist of 10 episodes of which 9 episodes will follow the novel's story but the last episode will feature an original ending written by Minato.

Fujiwara plays the lead character Fukase Kazuhisa who is an ordinary salaryman while Toda plays his girlfriend Ochi Mihoko. The couple's happy life is thrown into disarray when an anonymous letter sent to Mihoko states that Fukase is a murderer and Mihoko's trust in Fukase is shaken. This forces Fukase to have to face up again to the death of his buddy Hirosawa Yuki (Koike Teppei) 10 years ago during a snowboarding holiday along with his other friends Asami Kosuke (Tamamori Yuta) who is a senior school teacher now, Murai Takaaki (Miura Takahiro) and Tanihara Kosei (Ichihara Hayato).  Murai's sister Asuka who is also Tanihara's wife will be played by Kadowaki Mugi while YOU will play the wife of the master who owns the coffee shop frequented by Fukase. Hirosawa's parents will be played by Shiga Kotaro and Katahira Nagisa and Takeda Tetsuya will play the freelance journalist who is investigating Hirosawa's case.

Although it had been 10 years since Fujiwara and Toda worked together in the "Death Note" movies, Fujiwara said that there were no problems for them to get back into the groove so they had a lot of fun during the filming. Toda also echoed his view and said that she didn't expect them to be able to work together again after such a long time and revealed that she felt quite shy back then as she was just a teenager.

In the novel, the death of Hirosawa took place in the mountains during summer but in the drama, it was changed to a ski resort during winter. Fujiwara revealed that it was tough for them to film those scenes at the snowy mountains in Nagano Prefecture with the temperature at minus 21 degrees Celsius during February. In addition, Fujiwara, Ichihara, Tamamori and Miura had to play their characters 10 years ago and now so he was worried if they might look convincing as university students. With regard to this, Minato gave them the thumbs up and praised Fujiwara for looking convincing as Fukase with his poor dress sense and hunchback. On the other hand, as Toda's scenes are mainly filmed in Tokyo, she admitted that she felt bad about the tough filming Fujiwara went through because she had a comparatively relaxing time.
