Takanashi Rin to star in new NTV Spring 2017 drama "Koi ga heta demo ikitemasu"

Takanashi Rin will be starring in the new Yomiuri TV / NTV Spring 2017 drama "Koi ga heta demo ikitemasu" (Even if I am poor at love, I am surviving) which will begin its run from 6 April in the Thursdays 11.59pm timeslot. This marks her first leading role in a drama series in 4 years.

The drama which is based on the same-titled manga by Fujiwara Akira, features Takanashi as the lead character Chigasaki Misa, a career woman working at a smartphone games company who struggles between the ideals and reality women face when it comes to love. Tanaka Kei plays Ojima Keisuke, a handsome and capable management professional returning from New York who snatches the president's post from her but the two become romantically involved later. Co-stars also include Tsuchimura Kaho who plays Enoda Chihiro, an innocent receptionist good at household chores and Fuchikami Yasushi who plays Hashimoto Tsukasa, Misa's rival at work.

Takanashi commented that she hopes that this drama will be an encouragement to women who are trying their best in work and love while the men will be able to know more about how women think. As such, she hopes to be able to show the comedic and romantic aspects of the drama through her acting. With regard to working with Tanaka, she is also eagerly anticipating how things will turn out between them in the drama. Meanwhile, Tanaka commented that although he has been an actor for 17 years, this is the first time that he is playing someone as perfect as this so he finds this a challenge which is hard to come by.
