KAT-TUN's Ueda Tatsuya and Shishido Kafka will be joining the cast of NTV Winter 2017 drama "Shikaku Tantei Higurashi Tabito" starring Matsuzaka Toori which begins its run from 22 January in the Sundays 10.30pm timeslot.

The drama which is based on the novel "Tantei Higurashi Tabito" by Yamaguchi Kouzaburo, features Matsuzaka in the leading role of Higurashi Tabito who was involved in an incident when he was young and lost all his five senses except for his sight. Since then, Higurashi relies on his sight to solve various cases by observing other people's feelings and clues left behind. Co-stars include the heroine played by Tabe Mikako who is a nursery teacher, Tabito's buddy played by Hamada Gaku, Tabito's doctor Kitaoji Kinya and child actor Sumida Moeno.

Ueda will be playing Higurashi's assistant at the detective agency named Tsuruta Kamekichi, a young man with gangster-like mannerisms from Hakata, Fukuoka, who came to Tokyo because he wanted to make it big. While walking aimlessly in Kinshicho, he happens to met Higurashi and became the latter's assistant. Despite being a warm-hearted person who cares a lot for his mother, his frivolous ways makes him a somewhat mischievious troublemaker. On the other hand, Shishido plays the unconventional police detective Masuko Sumire in the organised crime department who would stop at nothing in order to achieve her goals. As a result of her unpredictable ways, her partner Doi Junichi (Wada Toshihiro) and the people around her feel as if they are always being twisted around her little finger.
