Aragaki Yui to star in TBS Autumn 2016 drama "Nigeru wa haji daga yaku ni tatsu"

Aragaki Yui will be starring in the upcoming TBS Autumn 2016 drama "Nigeru wa haji daga yaku ni tatsu" (Although it's embarrassing to run away, it is useful) which will begin its run from October on Tuesdays at 10pm. This is her first leading role in a TBS drama series for the first time in three and a half year years.

The love comedy is based on the same-titled manga by Umino Natsumi which won the 39th Kodansha Manga Award in 2015 while the script will be written by Nogi Akiko whose most recent work was "Juuhan Shuttai!". Aragaki plays the role of 25-year-old Moriyama Mikuri who left graduate school without a job and boyfriend and was recently fired from her contract job. While feeling despondent at not being needed anywhere, Mikuri is looking for a new opening when her father arranges for her to work as a housework assistant for a 36-year-old single man named Tsuzaki Hiramasa who is a company employee and used to be her father's subordinate. Mikuri slowly gains the trust of Tsuzaki but is about to lose her job again due to an incident so she suggests to the latter that he should hire her as a wife or else she will become unemployed. Even though they have no feelings for each other at first, they gradually start to develop a relationship while bound by a contract marriage.

Filming is due to begin in late August and the cast lineup will be announced later.
