Completion screening event of WOWOW drama "Utenai Keikan"

The completion screening event of new WOWOW drama "Utenai Keikan" was held on 8 January which was attended by the cast members Tanabe Seiichi, Ishiguro Ken, Nakagoshi Noriko, Shimada Kyusaku, Yamamoto Gaku and the director Nagasaki Shunichi. The drama which is based on the novel by Ando Yoshiaki and begins its run from 10 January in the Sundays 10pm timeslot, features Tanabe as an elite police officer Shibasaki who gets transferred out from the headquarters due to a strange case and later finds out that this had something to do with infighting between the factions within the police force. In order to get back what he lost, he resolves to take revenge on those who were responsible for his plight. Tanabe commented that he can identify with the lead character's desire to have a happy life and prevent others from spoiling that although the method can be quite extreme.

In relation to the drama's caption of being unable to forgive someone more than the culprit behind the lead character's plight, Tanabe was asked if he has any recent episode when he felt the same way. He cited that he had recently drawn a picture of an eagle flying in the sky but his friend had mistaken the eagle for a sparrow so it made him feel disappointed. As for Nakagoshi who plays Tanabe's wife in the drama, she said that she's really poor at remembering numbers and to date, she still doesn't remember her own elder sister's birthday. As such, she is trying to overcome this by writing the birthdays of those around her in her notebook. When asked about her impression of Tanabe since this is the first time they have worked together, Nakagoshi praised her co-star for being a very gentle person and gets inspiration for his art works everywhere. When they were out for location shooting, Tanabe spotted a maidenhair tree which the leaves had already turned red and exclaimed that it looked very beautiful. However, the funny thing was that while they were admiring the beauty of nature, there was actually a scene being shot involving gangsters fighting one another but Tanabe was hardly bothered by the nearby distraction.
