Kutsuna Shiori to play a police detective in FujiTV Spring 2014 drama "Bitter Blood"

Kutsuna Shiori will play a police detective for the first time in the upcoming FujiTV Spring 2014 drama "Bitter Blood" starring Sato Takeru and Watabe Atsuro which will begin its run from April in the Tuesdays 9pm timeslot. This will be Kutsuna's first collaboration with Sato since they last worked together in "Mei-chan no Shitsuji" five years ago. Kutsuna plays the role of Maeda Hitomi, the only female detective in the Kagiyama team (team leader Kagiyama to be played by Takahashi Katsumi) and is a judo expert. As Hitomi's late father died due to a case and the murderer has not been found yet, she decided to join the police force in order to catch the criminal herself.

In the first episode, Hitomi happens to encounter a snatch-theft happening while she is on her way to work and takes action to catch the thief. Kutsuna commented that even though she had done fighting scenes in period dramas before, it felt different to be doing combat with someone at close distance and there is lots to learn about how to handle the action scenes.

Other co-stars in this drama include Fukikoshi Mitsuru, Tanaka Tetsushi, Minagawa Sarutoki and EXILE's KEIJI.
